While Fast Forward Productions is one of the new guys in town, its owner, Steven Binder,
has a long and highly successful career in the advertising and video production industries.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting and Film Production from the
University of Iowa in 1985. After graduation, he moved to Florida to begin his career. It
didn't take long before he was shooting and editing commercials for area businesses and
directing local television shows. Wanting to play a bigger part in the creative process, he
took a position as Commercial Producer and moved to Jacksonville in 1991. 16 years
later he decided to take on some new challenges and began his own business.
Since moving to Jacksonville, Steve has also devoted a great deal of time volunteering for
and working with area nonprofit charities. Through the course of time and experience, he
has learned much about the needs of these organizations as they try to communicate to
the public the importance of their specific mission.
While the majority of his work over the past 23 years has been in advertising and
commercial production, Steve has also devoted much of his time videotaping and editing
television shows, sports and event promotions, and Public Service Announcements. He
has also designed logos, websites, newsletters, T-shirt designs, event programs, business
cards, brochures, direct mail pieces, banners, personalized greeting cards, and so much
more . . . even a book cover.
His award-winning accomplishments include an Addy Award in 1995 and the CAB, (Cable
Advertising Bureau), Award for Multi-Commercial Campaign in 2001. In addition, he
received a Volunteer Award for Outstanding Service from the National Kidney Foundation
in 2000.
Over his years of professional work, Steve has compiled a long list of respected clients and
yes, a few awards. Of course, the greatest award, he says, is "the gratitude and
appreciation I hear from my clients for a job well done."
